Cube³ is staying productive in the 2023. Dr. Wang will be presenting a poster titled "Infusing A Biomedical Engineering Machine Learning Course with DEI Content" in 2023 Scholarship of Learning and Teaching Conference held at UC Davis. We will be presenting during Poster Session A, 11:00-11:30AM on Friday, December 1.

Our 4th academic presentation in 2023 will detail a proposed framework for teaching bias in a machine learning course designed for biomedical engineers. Specifically, we will propose a module for running a simulated lab on a dataset biased on gender, and students learn that bias existing in the training data set can be reflected in the outcome of an algorithm that is supposedly neutral.
