BME Q@AS Program Information

Prospective Students

BME Quarter at Aggie Square (Q@AS) is a selective clinical immersion program primarily coordinated by Dr. Wang. This program is open to 2nd-year BME undergraduates that will be a 3rd-year in the Fall, when the program takes place. Participating BME students are expected to spend 3 days per week on the Sacramento campus participating in clinical immersion, BME technical courses, and clinical research. Knowledge in clinical engineering is not the only thing that our cohort of students gained; every student in the cohort will make 11 lifelong friends.

If you are a second-year student looking for more information on the Q@AS experience offered by us, or would like to fill out your applications, please visit this page: Biomedical Engineering at UC Davis Health | Quarter at Aggie Square.

Applications to Q@AS is a three-step process.

  1. Online application (link above) opens 4/7-4/25. This is a single-page application that allows you to save your application-in-progress and allows you to come back later. You application will be reviewed by Dr. Wang.
  2. If we are interested in your application, we'll invite you for a group interview with Dr. Aijun Wang and Dr. Jinhwan Kim at BME/UC Davis Health. The group interview will be groups of 3 for 30 minutes. These interviews are expected to happen around mid-May.
  3. Since we are building a research component in the Q@AS, you may be interviewed once more by your faculty mentor at Aggie Square.

Please note that you need to finish all lower-division coursework (all coursework with number 99 and lower as required in BME) to be eligible for Q@AS.
